Put the other pieces of Timtex into the sides.
Pin fabrics together, trim excess leaving a 1cm (½") edge.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


With a pencil, trace rounded corners, cut surplus.  Sew all around to finish.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fold and press the bias in half.
Place it as shown in the picture. 
With a narrow presser foot (for zippers), sew the bias all around the basket.
(At lower speed if possible)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Lightly iron for a smoother and nicer finish.
To hold into place, pinch and tack the 4 corners.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Note : One could also embroider the outer sides of the basket …

The basket is relatively flexible !
For a stiffer basket, Timtex can be replaced with heavy cardboard, but the advantage of Timtex is that the corners can be unsewn for storing.  Also Timtex is made of synthetic fibers, which renders it washable.
